I’m Steve Mihalacki.

I work with healthcare organizations to solve one of their most pressing challenges: reducing the cost of care while performing in an increasingly value-based environment.

With over 20 years of experience in medical economics, provider networks, and value-based contracting, I bring a practical, execution-focused approach to complex financial and operational problems. My work centers on helping clients design and implement strategies that improve affordability, strengthen network performance, and drive measurable financial results.

I started my career in a Veterans healthcare system after my active-duty military service, building a foundation in budgeting, contracting, and financial operations that continues to inform my work today.

I later spent eight years at CVS Health / Aetna, where I led medical economics and value-based contracting initiatives across diverse provider networks. I then served as Vice President of Network Strategy, Cost of Care, and Analytics at Magellan Health, where I developed and scaled innovative value-based reimbursement models—particularly in behavioral health.

As a consultant, I focus on delivering tangible outcomes—not just recommendations. My experience includes driving over $30M in growth through value-based contracting strategies and identifying $7M+ in cost-of-care savings through advanced analytics and targeted interventions.
